Yes, I previously read where you recently did quite well in the area adjacent to the Cedar River. I was really surprised that you launched your boat in Kenmore to fish that area. That's a heck of a long run to and from that area especially difficult if the wind kicks up. If you launch at Kenmore again, you might as well try some of my honey holes in that north part of the lake which would include areas somewhat to the south of McAleer Creek, the steep shoreline north of Champaign Point and the area straight out from Juanita Creek. My fishing buddy and I took some large Cutthroat (up to 24 inches) in those areas last year. This is about the time of year when those areas begin to be productive.

4/30/2019 8:04:14 AMI have tried the Mcleer Creek area a couple times. Came up empty. Where do you start? Are you starting in shallow water at the mouth of the creek or further south where it drops off? Champagne Pt, Juanita Bay and the shoreline up thru Moss Bay have been good. Also Wolf Bay has also been a consistent producer at certain times of the year. I launch at Kenmore because the ride down is sure a lot better than driving in traffic and paying the ridiculous launch/parking fee at Coulon. You are right if the wind kicks up it can be a looooong ride home. Fishing the salt I'm pretty used to long, rough rides home. Part of the game.

4/29/2019 6:52:41 PMI was out fishing yesterday with my husband, we caught 6 nice cutthroat at 25 feet on the downriggers. Never saw one of them show up on the depth finder. Did see some deeper marks but from past experience this time of year, those fish usually don't tend to bite. We caught all the fish all in the same area, just trolling in circles.

As you mentioned, circling the area where you hit fish is a very good technique that often pays off, however, it surely did not work for us today. We just could not find any significant numbers of fish on our finder.
