I've always focused on the upper lake so I decided to give the lower reservoir a shot. This was a great decision as instead of scratching out a few big Kokanee I managed a full limit with a couple solid kokanee pushing 16.5"+. Its going to be a great year for Kokanee fishing on this lake.

I caught all my fish on Paulina Peak Tackle with their new Peak Performance dodgers outshining skateboard style dodgers. Micro-hoochies in orange produced the most fish and all were tipped with corn soaked in Pro-cure water soluble shrimp and krill. I used lead droppers and caught fish with 1 oz at 45' back and 0.5 oz at 90' back with no clear winner between either. I just applied the same Kokanee "formula" I always use at every lake and came away with limits.

Monster size this year for the “lower lake”! Wow! I may have to try it out. We are regulars at the upper lake, wonder how big they are up there?

I've heard up to 18" in the upper.

Did they change the limit at Conconully or is it still 5?

Never mind. I see the statewide limit for kokanee is 10. If not mistaken I thought the last regulation book listed the limit as the same as trout.

My son and I have tried the upper and lower lakes this season with little success. We just purchased a 10’ Livingston with a troller. We have been using double d dodgers with either orange or pink micro hoochies with 1 and 2 oz weights about 100’ behind the boat. We troll at about 1 mph. Any advice you have would be great!
