Fished Saturday with Captain Dave along with Rob and Hillary from NWFR. The goal was to catch some of the monster trout and capture it on film for a future episode on TV. Well....the fish only sort of cooperated. I caught a really nice one that we got on film first thing in the morning. The picture is of Dave just before release. The rods went off numerous times and I handed off to Hillary only to have them get off for what ever reason. We finally got her hooked up on a really good one. Man are those fish strong. Make sure to use at least 10# leader or they will break you off. Back to Hillary's fish, it ran and jumped and really didn't like the boat. About when Dave was ready to net it under the boat it went and broke off. The bottom of any boat is hard on line! We really got a good look....it was huge bummer!!

Some smaller fish were caught and the bite went dead; that's fishin'. A fun day was had by all in captain Dave's newly built sled last summer. Water temp was around 62 and the day was bright sunshine. The fish liked flies from Arctic Fox trolled at 2.3 mph close to the bottom. Give Captain Dave a call if you would like to book a trip to catch the monster trout on Sprague Lake here in Eastern Washington.

Tight lines all and "May the Experiment Continue" - Alan
