Second straight weekend in a row catching tons of large and smallmouth. Some really good smallies and largemouth in this lake. Senkos and Ned rigs in dark green color variations did the trick

Awesome! I’ve been meaning to try Black Lake but the stories of ski boat and jet ski hordes have kept me away. I think I’ll try it Wednesday since it’s the middle of the week and supposed to be overcast. Good thing I made a bunch of stick worms and Ned rigs over the winter, sounds like I’ll need them. :)

Far side of the lake under the docks past the stumpy section were stacked with nice sized bass.

Sweet, thanks for the info. I’m stuck fishing from a float tube for now, so maybe I’ll put in at the park on that side.

On that far side of the lake there is a pull off area by the mouth of what looks like a creek with a small bridge that goes over the creek. I always see folks parked/fishing there and it looks to me like you should be able to put in your float tube there. If you do, there are pretty large lily pad areas right out front with several old broken tree stumps or maybe old dock piling around and those have been producing a lot of fish for me as well. There are a few docks to the left of that area, I’ve had some big fish hit my senkos and Ned rigs just in front of or under those docks. I think the main reason bigger fish are stacked up there is lots of cover/structure and a ton of holdover stocked trout everywhere in the big stump field just out from that area. I just bought a small s-waver 120 in trout pattern to see if I can get some bigger fish to chase it in addition to another 5 or so packs of senkos. Best of luck to you.
