Well here it is,
My annual Lake Chelan spring fishing trip. This time I left the toon at home and joined my buddy Sam on his boat off of Wapato Point.
Friday we both got in later in the day. We put 12 in the boat in less than 2 hours. Mainly trying to figure them out.
Sat morning we headed down to the red roof apartments. It took us a while to find fish, but when we did the bite was pretty much non stop. I don’t fish Chelan all that much, but I found it really odd that Kokanee were holding in 30ft of water. That’s where we caught most of our fish. From surface to bottom. We had our 20 in short order after finding them.
Sunday, our last day to put the hammer down. We did just that until we hit 17 fish and couldn’t get the last 3 to play. After about an hour of missing bites or losing fish at the boat, we finally put the last 3 in the cooler and called it a morning. Dreading the long drive back home, catching 52 Kokanee in a little over 2 days makes it all worth it. Time to clean the smoker and get some fresh fishes prepped this week!
