What a great day on the Spokane arm chasing walleye. Went with Captain Dave Grove and we had my cousin Ray and his friend Ernie along. We fished both ledges and flats with bottom bouncers baited with worms. The fish were in 20 to 30' feet of water and we trolled fast enough to make the spinners work. We have found a single hook works just as well as the double hook rigs while only using a couple of inches of night crawler or dew worms as they are called in some places. Dave likes to put the pole in the holder once the rig is set just ticking the bottom. The walleye will pick it up with a tap, tap. Then the rod will load up and you give the reel four or five cranks before pulling the rod from the holder. I found it amazing the method really works to hook up the walleye.
We located some hungry trout and managed to catch 10 really fat ones utilizing the walleye gear. What a hoot! The real bonus was they were all clipped fish. Watching the wild life is always a treat and it was great to see geese with their goslings and Eagles with their young ones. Life is good!
Tight lines everyone and may "The Experiment Continue" - Alan
