My son and I took our new-to-us boat (tentatively named The Crabby Daddy) out for resident coho and did pretty well. We launched from Shilshole around 6:15 and had a bite within 5 minutes of getting one rod in place. Three bites came quickly right by meadow point, at about 35 ft on the downrigger, but we lost all three.
Finally landed one a little later at 65ft, but the bite had definitely cooled off. We decided to head north, and found the fish about halfway from meadow point to the oil docks. We limited in short order and were back at the dock by 10am.
All bites came on 8 inch white flashers and ace hi flies (white and chartreuse), both with and without herring strips.
