I took a buddy from work, his dad and his grandson to the Arm for a little walleye fishing. We launched out of Porky and headed upriver to the buoy 5 area. We spent the morning trolling smiley blades and crankbaits; I figured it would be the easiest thing for them to do as they are not experienced jig fishermen. Anyway we trolled up 34 eyes and 4 trout. We kept 24 eyes that ranged between 16 and 24 inches; the other ten were all dinks. We kept 2 of the trout and released the others.

The walleyes are chowing down on the resident crayfish and because those crayfish are shedding their shells, they are pretty much orange colored. We used orange and green smiley blades to match the hatch. In the pictures you will only see 11 eye, the rest are still in my bucket; because of the average size that's all I could fit on my cleaning table. We ended up with 2 gallon size Ziplocs stuffed with fillets. That should be plenty for a good old Wisconsin style fish fry.
