Day Three Zeballos report:

Our final day of fishing with Adrian of Reel Obsession Sport Fishing we targeted getting the rest of of our halibut limit and kings we didn’t get the past two days.

The water was remarkably calm. We started a half hour early, leaving the dock at 5:30am to hit the tide change better. Arriving at our off shore location Adrian anchored us up and we dropped down four baits. As the scent began to disperse it was like a dinner bell for the halibut. Soon we were pulling in a steady possession of 10-20 pound halibut. Our goal was to get a couple “overs” but the est we could manage was one, due to the abundance of “unders”. This year you’re allowed one

over” or two “unders”, as measured by slot limits. The unders are basically 10-20 pounds and the over would be 30-40 pounds. So many chicken halibut we wore ourselves out! We caught at least 20 plus halibut out of our spot.

Highlight of the morning, besides all the halibut, was a pod of 10-20 humpback whales feeding around us, anywhere from a mile away to a few hundred feet. It was epic! We put our drones up and got some amazing footage.

Heading back we made quick order of the remaining chinook we were allowed, caught on spoons and an Old Goat. Nice 12-15 pound fish!
