Slot Fish Rick and I had an outstanding day fishing for Kokanee and Trout today. We launched from Seven Bays boat launch and went south. First we went down to the Goat farm first thing in the morning and the fishing was really slow with only one Rainbow. We then went down to the mouth of the Sanpoil river and we had no luck fishing until about 11:00 am. We then moved back up North to Haystack and caught a Kokanee right away marking many fish on the fishing locator along the rock walls north to Sterling point. Every time we made a pass through the fish we ended up catching some nice Kokanee and Rainbow Trout. All of the Kokanee we caught today were from 65'-80' deep with the downriggers in 163' of water. We were using Rocky Mountain Tackle 4.5" pink dodgers with a pink hoochie. The most effective dodgers had the hoochies tied on short to the dodger giving it a real good action. All of the Kokanee we have been catching have been Wild so when we caught our four we called it quits for the day not wanting to catch another silver football in case it would not survive from the release. There is nothing worse than seeing a fish you caught go belly up floating down the lake! Good Luck & Good Fishing Everyone!!!
