We motored out of Shilshole at 4pm and set up about 2 miles NW off the buoy. Caught a small silver within 1 minute of dropping the downrigger using our magic purple haze flasher and purple haze hoochie tipped with a herring strip. Puttered around and caught a smaller silver we threw back and then a small pink which we also threw back. Saw several boats heading to Jeff Head so we blasted over there, taking the very inside line off the first shelf.
Most boats were a good half-mile or more further out, but I kept our line on the inside. Threw everything at them but no bites. Finally right when we hit the neck of the hourglass just after slack tide, we hooked into a king. Landed it and I spun the boat around right through the same line and caught a 2nd BIG one within 200 feet of where we got the first one less than 5 minutes earlier. Got our limit and headed back before dark!
