Launched just before sunrise and motored out to our regular spot about 1.5-2 miles NW of the buoy. We hung there about 45 min with no bites then decided to try Jeff Head again. Got there right about slack tide. The area was covered in seaweed so made fishing difficult. Took an outside line off the 2nd shelf and hooked into two nice coho within about 15 min of each other in literally the exact same place (waypoint mark was about 200 feet apart). Both caught on the purple haze flasher and hoochie tipped with a herring strip. There was a HUGE bird-line as well as many pods of dolphins feeding, so we fished right next to them.
We tried just about every lure, hoochie, spoon and flasher throughout the morning and didn't get anything else other than a small silver we threw back. The two we landed were both BIG hatchery fish - the first ones we've seen this season. The dock warden said we got the biggest fish he had seen today. Wrapped it and trailored the boat at noon.
