Fished the Arm on Friday. Launched out of Porcupine at 0530 and headed up river to try our luck fishing near different weed beds. After nearly casting our arms off tossing jigs at weed beds with little to no luck we decided to give trolling a try. We trolled the main river channel from buoy 5 downriver using smiley blades/slow death hooks and standard two hook spinners. The regular worm harnesses produced best; a reddish/gold blade was the best producer. We had the most consistent bite in 35-40 FOW. Total catch for the day was 50 eyes and we kept 24; lots of 10-12 inchers were released to be caught another day. Nothing worth taking a picture of. We found 2-3 inch perch in several of the stomachs which explained why the red/gold blade spinners were working best. Match the hatch as they saying goes.
