Spent the afternoon paddling Aldrich until it started sprinkling and knew I had to pack up. Dark clouds coming in from the west with a cold moist breeze from the hood canal. I'm new to solo fishing and have been testing the waters around here. No luck with roaster tail today, mostly trolled with pop gear, wedding ring & worms. Lots of bites, hooked a small trout & several panfish. Nothing too exciting. Loaded the kayak in thunder & lightening- lots of fun.
I adore these small lakes in Tahuya- I go on weekdays and always have the lake to myself. Really relaxing & able to enjoy nature. Bathroom was super clean if that matters! Cool little park around half the lake, several picnic tables, bbqs & places to chill. Only one complaint- lots of trash scattered about the shoreline! Always a bummer, I'll come prepared to clean up a bit next time. Someone also has left a shitty handmade driftwood 'boat' near the launch- lame
