I had a late start at 7am but there were very few boats. I was taking my brother out for his birthday. We fished near the underwater forest area first and I caught a largemouth. I was quite shocked when I when to grab his lip, because his whole lower jaw was split! Was it a defect or an injury from when he was a minnow? The world may never know. We moved to another shore but were pounded by wind & waves. So we moved to the flats & fished structures without luck. By now the wind & sprinkles subsided & we went back to where we caught the largemouth and found a smallie. (Both caught on a ned rig) By now my bro is frustrated cuz he's only caught perch! (Some were quite large) We motored to the weather buoy & trolled wedding rings for trout. That's when my bro finally caught a fish to be proud of, a 17 inch cutthroat! All in all, it was a beautiful day on the water & we were all satisfied.
