Saw the lake was opening Oct. 1 for Coho and since Lake WA had a decent run early on, I thought maybe it Sammy would be good too. I got off work early to go check it out. Launched out of the state park about 3:30. No other boats out there. Went hunting fish with the sonar. Would mark the occasional large fish, but was having troubles finding any schools. Finally found one in in 53' of water and targeted them first by trolling through with a maglip on the DR. No hits, so stopped to jig over them. Still no hits. Lost the school and went back to hunting. Altered back and forth between trolling and jigging. Managed to hook a perch on a Buzz Bomb. Found another school just after 6p in 45' of water and tried jigging over them, but still no hits. Quit at 6:30.
Covered water in a pretty good radius out from Issaquah creek checking depths from 40' out to 65'. Most of the larger fish I'd mark were in 50'-60' of water and spread throughout the water column. Sure didn't want anything I put in front of them.
