Took my buddy Ken out for a little walleye fishing on the Arm. Finally, somebody caught more burbot than I did. Ken caught 4 and I caught 2; although I do still have a 50 burbot lead over all of my fishing buddies combined.

We headed up the Arm a ways and stopped at a deep hole that has been producing lately. We had to move around a bit but we ended up catching 49 eyes total. Many were 12" but we were able to catch 20 that were worth keeping. Either a red or black jig head with a motor oil red flake grub caught the majority of fish in 55-65 FOW. Water temp was 49 in Porcupine Bay and decreased as you went up river.

Another day well used, a nice mess of fish. Thanks for another great report.

you mentioned the water depth, but how deep were the eyes hanging out in the water column?

Elliot - The walleyes are hugging the bottom; not suspended. Sometimes you mark them on your fish finder and sometimes you don't. A slow retrieve while jigging is working well for me right now. I basically pull my jig off bottom, hold my rod tip high, and let the jig slowly glide back to the bottom.
