I was out on Lake Sammamish by the state park on my kayak trying to catch cut throat. Started out at 8AM ended at 2PM. The fish were there in droves, just none were biting. Tried 4 different trolling rigs, 3 jigging setups and a few casting attempts throughout the day. Nothing.
3 other kayaks were out as well throughout the day, one caught a small cutthroat as he was reeling up to change gear and that was it, the rest of us were skunked.

I dont know why but the Issaquah/Weather buoy end of the lake has not been overly productive for us. The far end off NE24th St has been hot! Easy limits. Fish are 14-15 inches some bigger some smaller. Water is off color and it seems green/red/silver glow spinners with worm chunk, 14 inch leaders, get it done. Elgin tackle spinners are also hot. Fish are at 15-25 down on the riggers 75-100 feet or so back. Probably what you are seeing on your fish finder are large schools of perch. There is a million of them out there. Far end is a long paddle in a kayak but maybe there are some other launch options. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip, I can probably launch from Idylwood beach park and paddle down to 24th pretty easily. Will have to give it a shot soon.
As to the perch, I thought perch were bottom feeders and didn’t suspend in in the upper column, especially in winter. I have fished fall and winter perch in lake Washington at the bottom of 60 foot water depths.
