Went to WDFW area on the lower river for about 3 hr and fished the spot just above the old RR at Zangar before we had other commitments. Flow was up at about 1200 cfs and water was 44 degrees. Past PIT tag records compared against flow data show that after the late October fish the next push comes at high water end of January, We didn't see any, maybe one roller but I won't swear to it. Water had crested about 8hrs. before, and was just starting to fall. Visibility was a foot to 18" max. Maybe it needs to fall a bit, I don't know, we haven't been at it long enough to have it figured out yet.
I ran a shrimp and yarn, and my son ran a 1/2oz black/blue jig below a bobber.
Saw a half dozen other rigs but no one stayed more than an hour. It is supposed to rain hard tonight so I don't know how the river might change. I expect fish, and would at least go look for a while tomorrow but we have plans. Maybe you can get one.
