I launched out of Ft Spokane with my buddies Glenn and Mike. We headed up the Columbia to fish the outhouse flats area. The morning bite was somewhat slow but we kept at it and boated about 20 eyes. The color didn't really seem to matter as all three of us were using different colors (chartreuse, avocado/red flake, and green pumpkin). We found most of our fish in 35-50 FOW, The wind picked up about 1130, white caps, so we headed back to the Arm. Did a quick pass casting jigs and blade baits at casino flats with no fish. We then headed all the way up to buoy 1 above Porcupine Bay. The water turns very muddy as soon as you enter the lower narrows. We did one drift through that area with no hits as well. We went back down river and stopped to work the edge of the flat at McCoys and were able to pick up a few more fish in 50-55 FOW. Again color didn't seem to matter.
Total for the day was 32+ eyes and we kept 26 eaters. Mike caught the nicest fish of the day, a 5 lb. female, that was released. The water temp in the main river was 37.5 and in the Arm around 39.
