Launched out of Ft Spokane on a chilly 25 deg. morning. We were in Glenn's Lund and headed out to the main Columbia due to the muddy water up the Arm. We went north and started drifting Outhouse flats with jigs. There were three of us and each one of us had their time of the day to shine. First up was me at the beginning of our day; I was using a glow head jig with a green/red flake swimbait and I put the first handful of eyes in the boat.

Later in the morning it was Glenn's turn with a blade bait and a black jig head with a green/red flake grub. After a 3 hour dry spell it was JD's turn; the wind picked up and we decided to drift Casino flats. It was a good call by Glenn as JD had the hot hand and we pretty much doubled our catch for the day. A chartreuse grub on a green jig head was the ticket on Casino. Slow jigging was the technique that worked best.

We caught 44 eyes and kept 41 eaters; the largest was 22.5 that Glenn caught on a blade bait. I also caught another burbot on a drop shot. The main river temp was right around 38 and the majority of our fish were caught in 35-40 FOW.

Thanks for the report Mark. I'm headed down in the morning and was planning on fishing the same area. Doubt I will do that good but sure appreciate the encouragement. Was the arm still muddy? I thought it might have cleared up by now/

That's a pretty impressive haul Mark, nice to finally met ya. I managed to get a burbot and a walleye out of the kayak then got cold pretty quick when the wind picked up.
Might drag the Beer-a-cuda up there next week and get serious.

I don't know how you manage to pick the day and I can't. There were 13 boats out there today and I will bet the total fish caught was less than you did on Monday. The water was a bit on the dirty side, maybe that was it. We finished with 5 taco eyes and 1 taco burbot. One of these days it will be my turn.

Until the Arm clears up a bit I plan on staying out in the main river; it has been good to us so far this winter. We just keep moving around in search of rocky humps that seem to hold a lot of quality fish during the winter. It won't last much longer though as the water keeps going down they eyes will definitely start moving to the spawning areas.
