Saturday was a tale of two boats. I headed out to Ft Spokane with Glenn and JD where we met up with another co-worker who also was launching out of Ft Spokane. JD and Glenn launched in JD's boat and I went out with Nicole and Ben. They both do a lot of trout/salmon fishing but haven't been having much luck with jigging for walleyes so I thought I would try helping them out by showing them the way we jig.
Our first stop was at Casino Flats where Ben picked up one keeper 16" eye. That was the only bite so we went out into the main river and started hitting some of my favorite areas like Outhouse flats. Throughout the morning we were able to catch 18 total eyes; all caught on jigs. Green/red flake and chartreuse grubs produced best. I released one obvious female that was about 5lbs, everything else was 16-21 inches.
At about noon, LD and Glenn came by and I hopped into their boat. They had caught 10 eyes and released 3 oversized females. We spent the rest of the afternoon doing the same thing as the morning and ended up with 26 eyes from 15 1/2 to 21 inches in the livewell.
