With stabilizing weather patterns, Olympic National Park catch and release steelhead fishing has continued to improve over the last week or so. We are getting most of our bites on plastic worms and 1/8 ounce jig heads fished beneath floats, and also 16 mm beads fished suspended beneath floats. One thing I would say is as the water clarity is becoming clearer by the day, don’t be afraid to make your casts almost ‘too close’ to the wood piles and structure, as that is where we’ve noticed most of the fish have been hiding-no guts, no glory!
