Headed down to Lake Sammamish this morning, Friday, and got started about 8:30am. Started at the Redmond end of the lake and within the first hour we had 4 cutthroat trout on our old goat lures. By 10:30 we had 8 fish, one a nice 15" rainbow and 1 a small salmon. Fished until 3pm and ended the day with 11 fish but 3 or 4 of them were small 6-8" salmon. It slowed down a lot after 11am and we only had one nice cuttie in the afternoon which we caught right next to the weather buoy. Only saw one small boat and two kayaks on the lake fishing today. Weather was rainy most of the day, so I guess that kept most of the fair weather fishermen at home. The lake, though, was smooth as glass all day long. We released all our fish to live another day and, all in all, a great day in the outdoors fishing, Of course, any day fishing is a good day.

Excellent report! Thanks. Did you happen to notice if the salmon had a clipped fin (coho) or not clipped (kokanee)?

None of them had a forked tail (I always look to see if they are the endangered kokanee) so I believe they were all small salmon from the Issaquah hatchery.

Dan: Thanks for putting the OG1s to work and reporting the results! Appreciate it!

I'm interested to try the OG lures, any recommendations on colors for Lake Sammamish?

If memory serves, I believe Dan had ordered our 2.8" OG1 in the perch color. (Dan: Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Appreciate your interest in our gear!

How's the water level? Still super high?

Yes, we use perch color in the 2.8 and the next size smaller. If we each use a different size, we almost always end up with the same amount of fish at the end of the day.
