Had an awesome morning trip on Cavanaugh! Both the scenery and fish quality is hard to beat! Started off launching the boat around 7:00am. Talked to a couple guys before I launched, and they to forget their Downrigger clip at home! Oh my gosh, haven’t we all been there! Good thing I had a spare to give to them and they were on there way. Anyways launched boat, got everything ready and lines in the water at 7:30am. Set one rod on a pinch weight set up at 5 feet and the other on the Downrigger at 15 feet. Not 5 mins in, BOOM! The Downrigger goes off and fish on! Then BOOM the other goes off! Double trouble. Fighting 2 fish with both rods in each hand. Good thing I managed to get both in! It was pretty consistent all morning. With 3 or so doubles throughout the morning. Hitting fish from the surface down to 30 feet. Fished for 3 hours and limited out! With a mixed bag of Kokanee and Cutthroat. The gear used: Rod 1, Sling blade Moon Jelly dodger 4.25” followed by 14” leader of 12lb fluorocarbon to Gold star Pink and Chartreuse NG193 micro squids tipped with orange corn. Rod 2, Arrow flash dodgers in Gold moon Jelly followed by 16” leader of 12lb fluorocarbon to a Diamond Flash Spinner in 50/50 Silver. Also tipped with orange corn. 50 foot setbacks. Both rigs were also dipped in Krill/Anise Super dipping Sauce. The bite has been awesome and I do have available dates during the weekends to book up.

If your looking to fish beautiful Lake Cavanaugh give me call or shoot me text at 360-631-2227. Lake Stevens and Lake Samish Kokanee is around the corner. Looking forward to the 2020 season! Tight lines everybody!
