Well, it was time finally get my fishing on, especially since we're allowed to now.

So I told my sons we going to go fishing for Kokanee at Lake Stevens. They were beyond pump to go. Both scrambled to prep our boat for the next day. We got there like really really early because we know that its a Saturday and its the first weekend since fishing wasn't closed.

When we got there, there was a line, but my hats off to all the anglers, they were polite and to be honest, all jazz to fish. It was seriously nice to see that. Saw a few buddies out there too.

We started at depths 35' to 50' on the downriggers. We stayed with 40 to 50' setbacks. The biggest kokanee we caught was 16" . The average range we got was 14.5 to 15". But they're so fat and meat always good too.

The lures we used were "Soldier Soldier" shrimp lures. (Color shrimp used were, Orange, Tequila, American star, and Purple)They have been a game-changer everywhere we go.

With addition dodgers used, Dick nite, Brads, and Soul Soldier dodgers. With all this combine it was deadly. Lots of fun.

We fished the east and west side of Stevens. To be honest I wasn't sure how good the fishing was going to be. I mean a full moon for 3 days? That usually means the koks been eating day and night for days. Then there was the weather change too, it was hot and I mean hot for Washington weather for this time of year. When it hit 8:30 am it felt like 80 degrees. We found it was about that at the time. Crazy!!!!

Regardless we were fishing, and lost a few koks and ended with 14 kokanee total. Now we were going continue the battle, but the powerboats came in like a parade. It was time to call it.

The only complaint was not the fishing, it was the leave time. They had a line at the public boat launch that extended out into the street. Now that's a lot of ski boats.

1.5 hours later I finally got my boat out of the water. So you all might want to make of note of this if your fishing at any Lakes right now.

Either way it was super fun day for us. Posted the youtube below.....Enjoy and Tight Lines!!!

Way to go Jeff and I hope the boys survived the 1 1/2 hour wait to get out of the water. That's crazy...
