Another great day on the Arm. We jigged up around 60 eyes and kept a limit of 48. 15 FOW or less is where we found our fish; all caught on jigs using brown and green grubs.

Great job Mark! Were you fishing flats or structure?

Wow great job! Been wanting to go fishing here for a while. I'm somewhat new to walleye fishing and was hoping you might share what launch is best for a 16ft crestliner? Should I just look for other boatsbor could you suggest some areas. Much thanks. MM

ATFULLDRAW87 - The main channel edge up river from the Porcupine launch, also best place to launch MORROW50,. We target shallow water near the main channel concentrating on areas where there is a current break, back eddy, or a shallow flat just off the main current where the current is a little slower. I have found the key to success since fishing reopened on the Arm to be a 1/2 oz. jig that just barely flows along with the current when jigged; I try to let my jig glide just over the bottom while it sweeps along with the current. Grubs, swim baits or finesse worms in greens or browns, that mimic crayfish, having really been producing for me. I do find I have to change colors whenever we move and we move frequently. We don't sit in one spot hoping the fish will come to us; if we haven't had a bite in 30 minutes we move. We don't necessarily move far but we move.

You say "sit in one spot" Are you anchoring or just holding in a tight area?

Really appreciate the info you provide in your reports. I'm visiting area and was gonna fish for walleye tomorrow. Sounds like I should fish porky area as u call it. I was originally planning to launch at Fort Spokane and fish the mouth area, outhouse, etc. Your thoughts?

I use anchor lock on my Minnkota to hold in an area; I particularly look for areas where the currents meet that allow me to hold without my trolling motor constantly running at full speed. With the water rising fast, areas that were good one day won't necessarily be good the next. I steadily move farther up river when this happens.
