Left early and headed to Mossyrock Park where we launched. Quite a few boats already on the water when we arrived. Started fishing at about 8:00am. Very windy in the morning and calmed down later in the day. We had to work for our fish today. We caught a mixed bag of sizes. Got some really nice big 15-16” coho and some middle to small coho. Used dyed shrimp, chartreuse and pink as bait. Color didn’t make a huge difference. Fishing mostly between 20 and 60 feet using Kokabow spinners and homemade flies. Trolled around 1.3-1.8mph most of the day. Lots of drive-bys as usual. Lost about 6 or 7 nice fish as well. We finished to about 4:30pm and called it a day. Ended up with 18 fish. The bonus for this trip was I got to take my kids with me, along with my dad. Even though it wasn’t the fast and furious fishing I’ve become accustomed to there, it sure was a great day to be on the water. My face is feeling the burn today ??
