After getting run out of Lake Shannon in the early AM, due to Thunder/Lightning, we ended up at Cavanaugh. The rain was minimal to start, but during the 4 hours spent here, it rained like crazy for 90% of the day.

I’ve fished this lake many times, so no mysteries here. Marked the most fish center of lake, from Just North of Launch, going North. 40’ depth of water, fish mostly hanging at 28-35’

Fewer fish as closer to the island end of lake. We fished inline spinners with 6” dodgers. Kokabow spinner?? General lake WA. Cutty setup. Fishing was pretty weak. Released maybe 2-3 typical SKINNY Cavanaugh Cutts. Kept 1 , 12” Koke.

Left wet and freezing cold.

I was there two days later and had a similar experience. I was there at dawn and the fish were a bit higher in the column, but at the same part of the lake. A wild thunderstorm rolled in around 9AM and practically capsized my little 12' skiff, so I didn't get to stay long.

MrGramho, Yeah.. there also was a HUGE tree that blew across the road just prior to launch.. had to turn trailer, double back around North side of lake, full circle back to launch from opposing approach. Even 4 hours later it was awkward getting out.

Has the road been cleared? Thinking about heading up there Sunday.
