Had a great couple days this week chasing Coho in MA-10. Beautiful weather, smooth water and very willing fish. Both days (Mon/Weds) we were done in a hurry.
Big -3 outgoing tide so the only viable option was to launch at Edmonds since it looked like Eddie Vine at normal pullout time would be unusable. For some reason I always get a chuckle seeing my small boat on the big Edmonds sling. BTW Edmonds launch is by appointment only due to corona cooties.
Got on the water about 8:30 both days and headed down to fish Meadow Pt. area. It took about a half hour to find the fish but when we did it was party over in a hurry. Both days we put 4 nice chubby rezzi Coho in the box in about an hour and a half at most. Seemed like it was over before we got started. All fish are stuffed with krill.
Setup was pretty basic Coho setup. Purple Haze flasher with an assortment of lures, BCP's, Flashyfish spoons, purple haze squid and Ace Hi flies w/herring strip, 30-35 inch leaders. 65-85 on the cable. We fished the drop off starting at the green can heading north following the line where it drops from 200-400 feet. If the water is smooth the rip is pretty obvious.
The fish are not the big summer run Coho but they are pretty darn respectable for resident Coho And they are mighty fine on the grill!!!
Tight lines
Randy
