Camped at Banks from Monday-Thursday.
Taking the puppers on her first camping trip. She did very well on the 4 hour ride.
Arrived late at about 4:30PM. Got everything setup and made dinner. Philly cheese steaks, yum!
It's about 7:30pm now. Decide to head out onto the water for a bit.
Started motor up and uh oh. Motor has a slight surge to it. Blast off and my display units shut off. Got a new lithium starting battery a couple of weeks ago and electronics been iffy. Couldn't get them to stay on, would shutdown as soon as I applied throttle. Noticed the voltage was erratic when the displays were on. Without graphs, headed back in. Did catch a Dink in that 10 mins of Sort of fishing on a jerkbait.
Tues. It was raining and since I suspect a battery issue, used this day to drive into Idaho to visit family and Batteries Plus to grab a new AGM starting battery.
Weds, got onto the water at about 1030-11AM. Motor started fine, voltage looks normal, and displays work when on throttle. Woot,
Went north of Steamboat. I think near the airport area west side. Water was chilly, only about 59 degrees. Caught a couple 15" SMB and that were very pale in about 4-5' of water on points.
Decided to turn around and head south of Steamboat. It was much smoother in that area. Got all the way down past the park entrance and worked the highway side bank. Caught over a dozen along here. Handful were in the 2# range, rest at 1# or much smaller lol. Caught on amix of Swimbait, dropshot, and jerkbait. Caught me a 16-17" Walleye in about 25' of water here.
On the way back, found a big school of what looked like good size fish in about 34-39' of water near the bottom. Wanted to fish it but had to head in for food.
Thurs, even though forecast called for a cloudy day, started to rain, so didn't bother fishing.
The pup did pretty well on the road and first time being on the boat.
