It's been a while. First time out solo with the pup, so lets see how this goes.

Got onto the water at about 10. Fishing an outside weed edge in about 15' of water. 3rd cast with the dropshot and fish on! Feels like a good one. 2.64# to start off the day. Not bad. Hooked onto another one but lost it when it came to the surface. A 13" or so.

Moved to a deep point and a few casts in, fish on! Didnt weigh this one but guessing right at about 2#. Fish was wounded looking on it's belly. The tail looked fine, so dont think it was from spawning. Again, lost another 1 here. Felt pretty good but I couldnt get a good look at it before it popped off.

Tried another deep point. 1st cast into about 20' of water and fish on! This one feels like another good fish. It looked bigger than the first one but it only weighed 2.68#. Fought very well.

Now is a little after 12 and I can hear the dog panting after taking a nap on the deck lol. I forgot the umbrella to give her some shade. So I headed back in. Not bad for 2 hrs worth of fishing. Caught 3 good ones, hooked a total of 5 bass. Caught 1 10" perch.

I only used the dropshot today. Did a handful of cast with the swimbait but felt the bite was better with the deeper water dropshot. Not to mention, I absolutely love my dropshot rod. Hard to put it down.
