This past spring I ordered a new kayak and with Covid disruptions in work force and supply chain was cautioned it might take until the fall to receive my kayak. I am always willing to wait for good things but to my surprise I got a phone call from Old Dominion freight this week saying they had a kayak delivery for me. I was super excited to get my new kayak out on the water so I rigged it up and tossed on top of my car. I figured there really is no better way to test a new kayak than to throw myself in amongst 200 other boats and try for some King Salmon.

I was about 3 minutes into the troll and a I landed my first King and then another a few minutes later. I picked up two bycatch Sockeye and then 3 more King Salmon all before 9 AM. LEO flashers with Yakima Spinfish produced all the fish for the day but I did have a couple grabs on Pro-trolls and Superbaits. Fish were 20-40' deep. I absolutely love catching these fish from the kayak. Its exhausting and exhilarating.
