We started out around 7am but pulling out of my driveway there was a horrendous screech (bearings was the thought) that wasn’t there when I parked. So, I made a turnaround in a housing development and could feel a knock in my steering as I turned. We stopped and my son got out to look at the wheel. Couldn’t see anything figuring it was a rock and when I turned it came out. No sound or problem the rest of the way.
The sun was shining bright on the nearly full parking lot. We got in the water fairly quick. The water temperature was 70 going up to 71.

We had bites and fish on within 5 minutes of getting lines in the water. It was a great day of catching until the pleasure boaters wreaked havoc. One chaotic moment the boat was heaving and dipping, the net falling off the roof, which I caught just before it hit the water, as a fish pulls the line out of the clip. Poetry in motion.
We had a few slow times but we found the fish again. Later in the morning the fish just started nipping at the lures so our catch ratio went down. My son enjoyed chasing marks on the fish finder. Some were successful. We got the fish from 14 to 26 feet. The marks at 35 feet didn’t bite.
The pleasure boat traffic was too much for me and I called it at noon. It took us 45 minutes to get off the water. Apparently, the parking lots were full and those taking up space at the launching dock were waiting for the owners to find parking.

Out totals were Son 7 fish= 1 cutthroat, 1 crappie, 5 kokanee (1 was next years fish). My catch was 1 cutthroat, 1 crappie, 4 kokanee. Of the 9 kokanee only the small one and 1 larger one had intact adipose fins.
The pool has been dropping. Aug. 9th it was 1202.04
