I always enjoy fishing Lake Ballinger! Took out my Intex Mariner 3 and trolled the south end of the East and South parts of the lake. The first fish was caught trolling off the launch about 100 yards, it's always exciting when getting some action when your pole first touches the water. The fish were very active (I thought I would limit out today), jumping right next to me within 5ft a couple of times, clearly they were trying to inspect the weird floating object to large to eat lol, I only fished for a few hours, lost one medium size, around 10 am the bite slowed down. I was using typical trout gear, black red rooster tail, and silver pink wedding rings. There are a lot more people on the water than I remember in past years, this lake is definitely a lot more popular than it used to be. As always it was a Joy to be on the water and a bonus to catch some beautiful fish for dinner!
Good Luck on your next Fishing Expedition!
