Got to hit the Lake WA coho opener with my wife JoAnn. I would have preferred the morning but hey ya gotta work, just thankful to get a few hours on the water.

We launched out of the tiny boat ramp in Kirkland and were fishing within minutes, and marking fish. Fished from the Marina down to the points and didn't mark a ton of fish but ran over enough to give one hope. Saw a few risers as well. we worked the 80-110 foot contour, and switched up rigs from plugs to flasher/hoochie and everything in-between. No bites and saw none caught, about a dozen boats out there.

Always nice to fish lake WA for coho, sometimes we get lucky, not this evening though. Still enjoyed a nice evening on the water with my wife and our traditional Lake WA dinner of KFC chicken.

yeah lake Washington Coho fishing is a real hit or miss fishery....... And when WDFW doesnt update the counts.. it can be even more of a guessing game for us fisherman...

It was slow in the morning too Mike. I fished early and saw some caught. I foul hooked a jack Coho and briefly hooked a decent fish jigging in 80' of water, but it was off pretty quickly and that was it. Marked enough fish on the sonar to think I'd get one or two, but most boats were getting nothing.

I was out in the morning too... all i can say is that i should have went out in the salt for the coho....one thing nice about fishing coho in lake wa is no rinsing salt off the boat and trailer after a day of fishing...

Tried again this morning....no hits. They're tight lipped it seems.

I tried for trout on the south end of the lake on Monday and ended up releasing a coho and a sockeye, so on Tuesday I tried north of the 520 for coho without luck. Go figure. What's the parking situation at that ramp? I looked at Google maps and don't see any trailer parking.

The kirkland trailer parking is two blocks north of the ramp. There's not much parking if it was a busy weekend. Should be ok this time of year. Check google maps satellite view.
