Normally I don't do this, fish on Saturday, but we had our sprinklers blown out on Friday, so we said why not give it a try. Glad we did! We went to Hawk Creek, which flows into Lake Roosevelt. A pretty place to visit anytime but especially now, when the leaves are changing, the water is high and the fish are biting. There were several others fishing and 2 Deer hunters. Lots of wild turkeys also.

A couple fishing near me had two fish before I got started. They caught 3 more while I was there. Two guys fishing nearby lost 2 fish. Fortunately for me, I caught the biggest, even though it was the only one I caught! Measured 19 inches!

We had a third of the fish for supper last night. Yumm!

i dont want to know your favorite spot, but i do have a question about hawk creek, we boated into there from the lake last summer and went up the canal to the hawk creek public launch, is that where i should fish from shore or do you hike into the main big hawk creek cove? really looking to do some shoreline fishing this year
