Took two days off to try Lake Lenore again for lahonthan cutthroat trout. Drove over weds am left home 3:40am got to lake by 7:10am..windy was forecast 9-10 mph am then after 10am 13-15mph..it was blowing fished from shore with mepps spinners, daredevil spoon and other trout lures ..water was very green and murky been that way last three times there since April 2015 and November 2018. Couldn't see the bottom in boat and to windy to be out first day. Tried north end, middle and south end casting zip. No bites no fish rising and no following the lure. Next day Thu was calmer launched my small boat on south end in sun..was cool 35f in am and 7-8 mph winds with rollers ..stayed at south end catching grass and nothing else... couldn't see the bottom even in 3-4 ft of water. Wind died down so trolled up to normal spots around islands and shore.. didn't see any fish rising or any fish following the lure...no bumps at all. Quit at 2pm. Ran into to fish biologists asked how I did said zip. I mentioned last three times four days fishing only got one fish in 2018. It used to be a lot better in late 80's thru early 2000's 4-5 fish and 8-10 bites each day out.
They said well we stocked 70,000 fish each year... didn't ask what size. Didn't see anyone else fishing in two days..locals used to come by catch one and go home. May have been slow week but seems to be normal here now.
Still beat working and fall colors were great on way home past Leavenworth to Marysville on hwy 2.
