Spent last week at Roosevelt and fished 3 days. We did good, caught several native trout that had to go back in addition to plenty of keepers to bring home.
We only fished afternoon because we were on "vacation" and, in my experience, afternoon is almost always as good as morning.
We caught 3 keepers Monday afternoon, we both limited Tuesday afternoon, and kept 7 Wednesday afternoon, which amounted to all we could legally transport anyway (2 daily limits).
Tuesday was a good catching day, smallest was 15" the rest were 16 "- 17" and a couple nice ones over 18". Wednesday we caught more quality fish, smallest was 16.5" the rest were 17" - 17.5" and one at 19".
Saw bighorn sheep, deer, turkey, and quail, really enjoy the diversity and scenery. Got to enjoy a beautiful sunset from our dining room one evening as we sat down for dinner, really gave pause for the gifts in our life.
Great to be back on the water. :-)
