Another good day on the Arm. It was a cold and foggy start; without GPS it would have been extremely hard to find your way upriver. We started on a rock pile near a weedbed and in 15 minutes had 5 quality 20-22 inch eyes, all caught on a 1/2 oz black jig head with a 3 1/2 inch perch swimbait. That bite died as quickly as it started. We then concentrated on a main river channel edge in 50 FOW and caught another 25 eyes. Mike caught and released a nice 23+ incher. The same jig combo produced best although I did try throwing my arm out by casting a drop shot, a blade bait and a jigging rap. Mike stayed with the jig while I goofed off; I eventually went back to the jig. They wanted a slow jigging action but when they hit they were engulfing the jig. We boated just over 40 eyes and kept 12 keepers. Those 16 inch eyes do look small when they're next to 21-22 inch studs. Oh, and I caught four more burbot; Mike caught none.
