We planned a trip to Banks lake and found the Walleye bite to be tough. We decided to try fishing a new species to us, whitefish! We ended up anchoring in 120ft of water. We found that fish were stacked like cordwood from 80-115ft. We decided to set up a sliding sinker rig with about 3/8 of an ounce, a couple feet of leader and a size 10 light wire mosquito hook. We baited the hook with cocktail shrimp and sent it to down. The fish have a very light bite and it took awhile to get the feel for it. We ended up catching serval fish on day one but did not hit two limits. Day two we changed the setup and put the hammerdown. I'll tell you about that in the next report. Tight lines all!
