After a very slippery/icy drive up Hwy 25 from Davenport I launched out of Ft Spokane at first light. I had Glenn and Mike with me and we headed out onto the main river towards 7 Bays. We started off on the big flat on the opposite side and caught a couple of eyes and a smallie in the first hour. They were caught in 45 FOW on both a jigging rap and a black jig with a 3.5 inch perch swimbait. We continued moving around for the next 5 hours in search of active fish; we didn't find any. We hit our last spot at about 1430 and after a few minutes I had Glenn cut the gills on the couple of fish we had. We were fishing a hump that drops off into the main river channel but were not getting bit. Glenn suggested I move out a little deeper (60 FOW) off the end of the hump so we could cast up onto it and drag our jigs off the end. That proved to be the difference for the day as we all caught a couple of eyes in the last few minutes of daylight. Not a great day but we ended up with 11 eyes between 16 & 18 inches; all nice eaters. It was easy boat driving for me as the wind was almost calm. We timed it perfectly between the two cold fronts.
