Decided to hit Rock Lake on Thursday; but, we weren't sure as to what the fishing would be like after two days of significant rainfall. We usually start on the north end. But, when we arrived there, the stream that flows into Rock was pushing a _lot_ of debris into the water: branches, sticks, and grass were floating everywhere and the stream itself was running high and carrying a lot of sediment.

As a result, we decided to troll back along the shorelines (both east and west). We would periodically cut across the middle.

Because of the sediment in the water, I decided to experiment with a Pro Troll strike lite attached to a smaller Big Al's triangular flasher. We fished a 2.44" perch OG1 behind this flasher. On the other rod, we experimented with various flasher/lure combinations. The most effective proved to be a small watermelon flasher trailing a 1.8" OG1 in fluoro-blue/fluoro-pink. All that said, the Big Al's/perch combo was hands-down our most effective setup. We took three limits of 'bows for the smoker. Lots of smaller fish in the 12" range. One decent 14" fish.

Trolling speed was right around 2.5mph and trolling depth was apx. 20 feet.

Thanks for the good report, glad you caught some. Been wanting to try that lake but am a bit timid about launching my 19 ft boat down there. Looks a bit rugged.

That launch is definitely a tad primitive. (I put on a pair of chest waders with ice cleats attached to the foot bed. Seems to help when guiding the boat off-of or on-to the trailer at Rock.)
