Got skunked last time I went out on Sammamish. Hoping for redemption and got a little. Started off with a pink micro wedding ring with matching dodger, long lined, 1/2 oz weight, 150ft set back, trolling 1.8 mph, tipped with small earthworm and tuna juice soaked corn, began just past the weather buoy of the adjacent point. Couldn’t get the second rod out when I got a bit. Didn’t stick and finished setting up the other (partner’s) rod which was a green wiggle hoochie, matching dodger, same bait.
Trolled north and would get the occasional bite. Just when I thought to change out gear I get a bite. Ended up with three in the box. Did get a double at one point but did not land the other one. Had there for the day. Pink had two. Green had one.
Bites were good enough to keep it interesting. Landing fish was another story. Just had to go looking for them. Spoke with another gentleman out there who got one for the day. I did notice the trailing hook to be the only one to be right in the mouth. The front hook didn’t seem to get any action. Maybe short biting. Good luck out there!
