We call it fishing Friday! My friend Clint joins me for fishing on Friday when he is available and the weather cooperates. Ft. Spokane was chosen for three reasons. Another friend and I did well there, Jeff landing his personal best 23 incher pus a beautiful Redband about 20 inches. It was his first native, quickly photographed and released. I caught one bow 16 ½ inches. The second reason was the weather report, temperature in the low 50’s with gusty winds in the afternoon. The third reason, I was anxious to try out my new ice sled to transport our gear to the beach. It preformed great, gliding easily over the grass and sand to our spot on the beach. Fishing was slow, we only caught two but they were worth the wait, one 19 and the other 18 ½. There was a lot of boat traffic coming from the launch on the Spokane River. The beach was popular with at least 20 fishermen but it was far from crowded. On the way home we spotted two bucks, a doe and numerous turkeys, all in the same spot. All in all, a very blessed day! I rated the day a five even though we did not catch lots of fish!
