Launched out of Ft Spokane with Jay and hit some main lake humps with rock piles. First fish caught was a smallies on a jigging rap in about 48 FOW. Moved around a little until we found a hump that showed a school of fish on the depth finder. That school turned out to be burbot; Jay caught one and I caught two. All were released but Jay's stayed on the surface a little too long and became a nice snack for a Bald Eagle. The wind picked up pretty good out of the north so we headed to Casino Flats. We picked up 5 eaters; the fish were very scattered so we were doing a lot of fan casting. These guys were up on the hump in about 32-35 FOW. There were a bunch of bass boats on it when we arrived but I didn't see any of those guys catch anything. We found one more spot that was holding fish. They were all smalleyes (6-8 inches) but it was an entertaining way to end the day. All told we caught 12 or so eyes and cleaned the five eaters. Jigs with 3-5 inch perch/green pumpkin swimbaits worked best.
