I haven't had much success with winter bass fishing this year. I've been hitting Lake Sawyer lately on my kayak lately because I heard there are smallies in there. I haven't had any success there, so I ventured out to Lake Sammamish. It started out as a really nice, calm morning, but the wind started gusting around 10 am or so. Water temp was about 44.5 F. I mainly fished the points near the boat ramp and state park. I tried dropshot, jig, jerkbait, and deep diving crankbaits. I had a bite on the jig, but whatever it was just bit off a piece of my crayfish jig trailer! It soon got too windy to fish from a kayak and had to turn back in. It was nice to see about 3 other kayaks fishing in the area. Anybody have some tips on where to fish for bass from a kayak on Lake Sammamish?
