Early Spring Chinook fishing will test even the most seasoned veteran! The run seems to be late this year and fish are just now starting show up in decent numbers. We fished the Portland area from the Airport to Davis bar this weekend and had 4 good solid chances, but didn't end up with anything to take home. The Columbia is to close, below Bonneville on April 4th, so we really don't have much of a season to fish. Cross our fingers we get an extension! Spinning herring has been the go-to method this year while fishing deeper water has worked due to the slower than normal flows we have. Put in your time and be ready when you get your bites! They are few and far between!
