Made the trip to Porcupine Bay after a friend and I have been talking about it since COVID hit.
With the first boat trip of the year we had a few hiccups, fish finder wiring repairs to work thru, and oh my forgot the worms!
Zipped down to the Marina for worms at the tribal store and made our way back for an afternoon exploratory fishing trip. Fished 5 hours.
Took a couple hours to catch the first fish, ended with 9. Mostly in two small areas. Fish length was 11", 12" ,3 @ 13", 14" 15", 16" and 17". All males but one 12" female which surprised me.
GPS was a big help to mark fish on bottom or once hooked so you can come back.
Purple smiley blades w/black beads in 25-50' of water, trolled .5-.8 MPH, with a chunk of worm on a slow death hook was the ticket this day.
Tried Jigs and couldn't get that to work.
