We went out in the kayaks after work this week to just have some fun and catch some trout. We both got limits in a little over an hour...most of that was spent just testing areas. It was pretty windy and we found that the SE cove was the most productive spot for us on this day...the wind was also pushing us in this direction. It looks like the lake was just stocked the day before we went. Trolled 1/4 oz Kastmaster, 1/4 oz pink Rooster Tail, and 07 Jointed Firetiger Rapala. Caught fish trolling each of these about 20-30 feet behind the kayaks with no additional weights. Casted the Kastmaster from the kayaks and caught a few fish this way too. A couple of the trout were small but my first and last of the day were pretty big as far as freshly stocked trout go. Beautiful sunset on the water and just a quick fun outing.
